In http://www.ipernity.com/doc... you see the letter tipped in at front end paper of Lewis Carroll's "The Hunting of the Snark" (1876). The "Snark" was written as a childrens book (although I would consider it to be a good example for crossover literature which addresses readers of all ages), and *after* the first edition was printed, Carroll perhaps feared, that his ballad was a bit too "dark". So he added the letter on his own expense.

Nancy, I have been pondering the idea lately (which will no doubt become a post soon) of 'hey, come to Jesus and life is a done deal!' (as I heard in a sermon at a church I visited recently.) 'Cause it SO. IS.NOT.
You and I share (I'm pretty sure) the same approximate getting-saved eras (so technically we're all triplets) and I can vouch for the fact that it has been a journey, not a one and done kind of thing.

Your words really resonated, "all my life, God was drawing me to him—revealing more about himself and his character, and wooing me out of the depths of his great love. God knows us so intimately and has unlimited patience and means for drawing us to himself."

Oh, indeed, indeed. He is always drawing us.
(My copy of 'Spiritual Misfit' arrived today and it's all I can do to not drop everything and start reading, but I've got Emily's lovely "Promise" book to finish.)

Twinsies! Love this. And my own coming to faith seemed much like Michelle's and then some. I laughed when I read Michelle's book and reflected often as well on my own faith journey. Funny how God pursues us all and meets us where we are. He is good like that.

What a great review, Nancy. I'm chomping at the bit to get my copy....the one I pre-ordered from Amazon back n December - the one Amazon tells me is in the process of being shipped. I digress....I know I'm going to love it because I love Michelle.

We had a discussion about our salvation dates last week in Bible study. I told the ladies that I have no clue. I love your answer. Love it. I need to write it in my Bible so I'll have it next time I'm asked.

I can't believe it's been an entire year! Patrick is a beautiful boy (and I bet he's brilliant). As I read through all his "firsts", I felt a little sad that we don't celebrate these things in our grown-up lives. Maybe I need more practice seeing each day anew. Maybe I need eyes like little Patrick's.

It would be AWESOME! I should have mentioned that we are constantly buying those grands NYY gear, but it isn't always appreciated. The Red Sox spring train an hour from where we live, so, having grown up around here, my boys' wives are both Red Sox fans. =)

Yes, I can see that it is true what they say about loving your grandchildren even more than your children in your words. My oldest son is getting married on the 19th of April and I am already looking forward to my first grandchild. I told my husband the other day that I sort of already live them.

What is this "written out in longhand" of which you speak? I think I'll be doing well if I remember to print this out for him at some point :)

And, don't be too hard on yourself--it would be pretty tough for you to get to Yankee games frequently with the grandlittles, yes? It does help that my girl lives right in Pittsburgh--and that ticket prices there are cheap!

Hope to see you at Yankee stadium this season--wouldn't that be awesome?

I find it almost impossible to believe that a whole year has gone by so quickly! Happy Birthday to your darling, much loved, grandson. He is a lucky boy. (And I love his name - my brother is a "Patrick," too.) :)
